Ed Cleary
Principal Member of Odyssey Transportation, LLC.
Mr. Edward Cleary has been actively involved in the ground transportation industry since 1975. Mr. Cleary has owned and operated a yellow medallion cab as well as a radio dispatched luxury sedan. Mr. Cleary served for 10 years as a member of the board of directors for a major Black Car company. During his tenure, he held the responsibilities for administration, IT and Call Center operations.
He was also in charge of the design and implementation of the first computer aided dispatch system in 1987 in use with the black car market. Under his guidance, over 500 vehicles received mobile computer terminals and the associated radio equipment needed to run the computer terminals.
Mr. Cleary was a pioneer in the Black Car field with his co-founding of The Hub Connection (THC) in 1996. THC was the first centralized call center in the New York Tri-State area to employ the “Next Available Car” management tool for multiple black car fleets. THC allowed large corporate black car users to electronically connect through this central call center and get availability to multiple black car groups that they were contracted with. This concept reduced wait times for vehicles, controlled usage and costs throughout their entire company.
In 2002, Mr. Cleary co-founded Odyssey Transportation Group, LLC. By including the tools used in The Hub Connection, he was able to form a powerful black car company that catered to the idea of superior customer service and cost containment through advanced technology.
Mr. Cleary is a graduate of FIT and an A.S. in Business Merchandising
